First home

Hi there- not sure what this is truly all about but I thought I would give it a try. It's not easy saving for your first home and everyone has their story. Im married to a retired and 100% disabled Veteran who served 12 years active duty and toured Afghanistan. I was not married to him when he was on tour, but rather met him after he came home.  He went through a very difficult and bitter divorce when I met him. It's been 8 years and we work very hard to provide all that we can for his 13 y.o son. We would have to wait an additional 4 years to buy our first home as a family and so for the last 8 years we've been renting. We're looking to move to NH where we can have some land and a nice home for the family. We've saved up about $5k but we need a bit more to put down and To accommodate the 50% stamp tax at the closing. Anyone whose been through a divorce can understand child support adds a lot to the plate while balancing life itself. its definitely an added stressor but we've made it this far and I have no doubt that we can't make it all the way to the finish line. I'm 33 years old and work full time and am gloving to school working on my MBA. I'm driven and dedicated and am praying for a home of our own. Thank you for reading our story.
